O relato mediático móstraa simultaneamente como o principal perigo comunista e como un xigante do capitalismo salvaxe. Mais, sen excepción, trátase de apresentar o seu como un modelo opresivo, depredador e distópico.
Lonxe dos estereótipos, de Mar de Lumes quixemos reflexionar sobre a historia, o papel actual e as perspectivas da China. Un país que, despois da revolución de 1949 nun território enorme e de base feudal, acabou por se converter hoxe nun dos principais axentes políticos no mundo.
Para abrir este apaixonante debate contamos a pasada sexta 28 no Vide Vide! de Compostela con Maurício Castro, activista social e unha das persoas que nos últimos tempos se ten achegado máis e de maneira menos preconceituada á realidade chinesa. A palestra, con importante presenza de público, estendeuse sobre os principios do modelo chinés que conxuga elementos capitalistas coa dirección estatal en todos os sectores estratéxicos e unha economía planificada que ten permitido importantes avanzos na erradicación da pobreza extrema e no desenvolvemento industrial e produtivo do país. Maurício Castro tamén explicou os mecanismos de control público das empresas capitalistas que alí operan e os motivos que levaron á China a enveredar por este camiño.
